St Albans Maidenhead Aquatics

Need to arrange a meet up here in a few months time I think! Popped in there today, having a great big revamp. New cafe at the back in progress, shrimp room is developing, huge indoor Koi pond being built and to top it off they've taken out their 10ft monster fish show tank and replacing it with an 8,500 litre reef tank :o
It's a building site at the moment, but give it a couple of months and it'll be looking good!

Sounds good Cat. Might pop there this saturday as I am going to be in Hemel.

Just popped in to get some fish food (and a couple more Boraras for my tankoftinythings) and they are in the process of filling that reef tank. It's just got the plastic framework for the reef-to-be in there at the moment. It is indeed about 10ft square O_O its bigger than my living room. Chatting to the girl they estimate it'll be about 4 weeks before things are living in it, but they're taking it slow so maybe in about 3-4 months it'll be looking more like a proper reef tank.
On paying for my stuff a lady came up behind to ask the age old question, do you sell like a plain old fish bowl? do you also sell goldfish? One of the staff took her off to explain whatswhat. The guy serving me said they still get a lot of those every week, HOW this still happens with the interweb saying NO to bowls I have no idea.

How is the progress of the site ?

Hi mlgt, cat,
Just registered and this is my first post!! :D
I live in Hemel and would be keen for a regular fish keeping catch up. I'm somewhat of a newbie (very keen to learn as much as possible) and while reading forums and various articles it would be great to meet people face to face, think I'm driving my girlfriend up the wall with my fish talk.
Anyways, a bit about me. 30yrs old (not that age matters eh?), 100l freshwater tank but with ambitions to move to salt water. I also have two further tanks 1) 23l fluval edge 2) 15l nano wave although both of these are sitting idol currently.
Let me know if you ever get something going at St. Albans and I'll try tag along for a meet and greet.
FYI.... The site looks good now in my opinion. The reef tank is complete with coral and fish. Shrimp tank is shrimping (I bought about 10-20 babies that I think became an exotic treat for my Harlequins :'( )
