Removing Toxins and Polyfilter
(1/1)
James:
A little while back I noticed i wasnt seeing any shrimp in the main tank but thought maybe the population had crashed and there would be some hiding in the plants and once numbers built back up i'd start seeing them around again but then the other day I topped up a smaller tank with water from the main tank and the shrimp in there died and on closer inspection I cant see any in the main tank so now i'm thinking something must have got in the water and thats killed them all.
I've done two 50% waterchanges and plan to maybe do one more over the next few days to hopefully dilute whatever it is as much as possible then i'm thinking of chucking a bag of carbon and some polyfilter into the external as they are both meant to pick up any nasties disolved in the water.
Do you think that will be enough to remove whatever is in there and should I stop fert and carbo dosing while the polyfilter is in place as will it strip these chemicals out of the water too?
