My Fluval Roma 240

Lamzang:
And today I travelled East (to Wholesale Tropicals) and came across these beauties:

The boy:

The girl:

I have been looking around for some decent Blue or German Rams but have not found any. When I saw those Golden Rams, though, I was smitten. Their colours in real life are much nicer then on the pics.  :)

mlgt:
Lovely looking fish. Should do a video sometime :)

Lamzang:
Well, what a bummer!! The male ram died suddenly on Wed evening. Couldn't see him at feeding time and eventually found him hidden away looking pale. Later that evening he came out a bit, started darting around the tank in spirals a few times - and that was that....

No idea what went wrong with him; didn't change anything in the tank, the female ram is colouring up nicely to a deep gold colour and all the other fish are happy and well. I do think it was something with that particular fish and not anything related to water quality or some contagious disease.

Now the search is on for a matching replacement.....

Lamzang:
Just thought it is time for an update. Decided to rehome my angels and concentrate on small(er) fish instead. First new additions, though, are 5 amano shrimps. Sod's Law that they keep hiding when I take my camera out  ::)

Some smaller changes include changing the background to another photo one (wood & plant theme, even if it is not to everyone's taste  ;) ) and removing some hygrophila siamensis from the back and planting some more vallis instead.

Lamzang:
And this little beauty of a crypt seems to be spreading now; little needle-leaves are popping up from the gravel everywhere, even if they get occasionally covered by the bristlenoses boisterous behaviour...
